A Christopher Stephen Clark, producer di moltissimi album electronics piace accorciarsi il nome. Se prima pubblicava dischi come Chris Clark, adesso preferisce un più conciso Clark. Tratto da “Body Riddle”, disco del 2006 per la Warp, un po’ incline al manierismo, soprattutto del modello “storico” Aphex Twin”, l’omaggio a Werner Herzog, un regista capace di toccare molte sensibilità, è un’elegia schizofrenica vissuta in apnea, e forse uno dei miglior pezzi. Compositore, sassofonista, produttore, ideatore e titolare dell'etichetta discografica indipendente Tzadik, nonché affermato talent-scout, John Zorn è una delle figure-chiave della musica contemporanea: la sua incessante attività di musicista è stata sempre supportata da una profonda curiosità per tutto ciò che è "nuovo", da un eclettismo ai limiti della bulimia e da un'incontrollabile prolificità discografica. Ecco una sintetica rassegna delle sue "passioni"musicali. Tra gli omaggi al cinema ricordiamo quello a Ennio Morricone [“The Big Gundown”], a Marcel Duchamp [“Duras Duchamp”], e il doppio tributo a Jean-Luc Godard e a Mickey Spillane ["Godard/Spillane"]. Zorn ha pubblicato oltre una dozzina di “Filmwoks”, colonne sonore immaginarie e formato una band, “Naked City” in omaggio al film di Jules Dassin.
